AIS Certificate of Excellence 2009

Stretch Ceilings workmanship was awarded the AIS Certificate of Excellence for the installation at Condé Nast, London.

Stretch Ceilings helped to create and realise the projects required acoustic performance by reducing reverberation times whilst also providing an aesthetically complementary effect to the office environment by marrying areas of the office through the use of even sized panels and recessed linear lighting.

The Matt White membrane covered 544 square metres comprising 62 panels that formed a unique design of warmth and comfort, communicated through a minimal design ambience, delivered on time and in budget.

Logo No Go.

Stretch Ceilings featured on the front cover of FX Magazine, April 2009 edition for the installation carried out at HSBC, Dublin.

The red Lacquer finish was chosen by the Architect for the 3-dimensional triangular shaped structures to give an appearance of being manufactured from a high gloss metal.

The four striking focal points enhance the atrium, subtly hinting towards the world famous HSBC logo through the clever use of shape, frame positioning and brand colour. Whilst each section played a key part in the “Logo No Go” design there was also a crucial functionality requirement. Each frame assisted in creating a comfortable ambiance by improving acoustic performance, light reflection and area awareness to encourage the use of space for meetings and relaxation alike.

AJ Specification: Focus on Ceilings

A Stretch Ceiling installation at the Saatchi Gallery was featured in an editorial of the June 2009 edition of AJ Specification.

The Stretch Ceiling Diffuser was chosen to create an “artificial sky” which will give the controlled effect of consistently even daylight, to enhance the appearance of the artwork within the exhibition.

Approximately 1000 square metres of Translucent Stretch Diffuser material was installed below high efficiency fluorescent tubes resulting in a controlled 75% light transmission.

Stretch Ceilings strikes Gold with the Haymarket Hotel

Stretch Ceilings won the prestigious Gold award at the 2008 AIS Contractors Awards, held at The Dorchester, for our stunning installation at the Haymarket Hotel Swimming Pool project. The Judges commented - “This project has to be seen to be believed. A gentle barrel vaulted ceiling surrounded by very crisp bulkheads – absolutely fabulous".

Senior Sales Executive Chris Bavin accepted the award from David Jones, President of Association of Interior Specialists, Jack Pringle of Pringle Brandon Architects who enforced a message of “rewarding the best to encourage the rest” and also present was Peter French of Peter French Architects who was the lead Architect for the Haymarket Hotel, London.

Stretch Ceilings just missed out on another award for the 02 Dome installation which the Judges thought was worthy of mention – “Another outstanding entry, which only lost out because of the exceptional competition”.

The latest award continues our run of success of AIS Gold awards after the wins in 2006 with the Medway University and 2007 with the Victoria and Albert Museum.
